DIY Homework Folder {Tip 10 of 31}
A DIY homework folder that helps keep school work organized!
It was always a challenge for me and my child to keep homework/paperwork straight during the school year. I was never sure if assignments were reaching me, or if her teachers were receiving the completed work and documents I sent back. It was quite frustrating for all of us!
One summer I attended a parent-teacher workshop and heard a great tip that ended all the confusion. Sarah Ward, M.S., CCC/SLP gave us a simple idea that has helped transform our process of dealing with school work and reduce the stress surrounding the whole process.
Here’s what she advised:
- Use two pocket folder with fasteners.
- Turn one folder inside out and fasten both together.
- Use double sided tape to keep the folder that is inside out stuck together.
- Using a sharpie marker, label the pockets in the following order:
- To Turn Into Tomorrow
- Due later
- Returned Papers
- Homework Tonight
I recommend plastic folders to help with durability, we used it last year and had no issues.
