Create, Cook, Talk: Three-Way Chili (Kid-Friendly)

This kid-friendly Chili is a FALL favorite at our house (actually any time). Even today, my older daughter requests it when she comes home for a visit.

What the difference between a 2-way and a 5-way chili?

• 2-Way: Chili served over spaghetti.
• 3-Way: Chili served over spaghetti with shredded cheddar cheese.
• 4-Way: Chili served over spaghetti with diced onions and shredded cheddar cheese.
• 5-Way: Chili served over spaghetti with warmed canned red kidney beans, diced onions, and shredded cheddar cheese.

THREE-WAY CHILI (KID-FRIENDLY)

Ingredients

• 2 Lbs ground Turkey
• 2 cans of Tomato Sauce
• 1 can light red kidney beans
• 1 pk Mild Chili Seasoning Mix (we like McCormick Mild Chili Seasoning)
• 1 pk Taco Seasoning Mix

Steps

Throw all the all ingredients in the crockpot (no need to brown or saute ground turkey in advance)—cook on high for 4 hours, or Low for 8 hours. Stir occasionally.
NOTE. If you leave the lid on the chili it will be more liquidly like soup. If you prefer your chili thicker, than leave the cover off or ajar. Tip: You could also start cooking with it cover/lid on and then remove it halfway through, so the liquid evaporates as it cooks.

Tip

Encourage your children to ask questions.
If your child has difficulty with this, have a list of questions either written down or in picture form to help them ask questions.
