Brittney Snellgrove
Brittney is a freshman in High School and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. She is an A/B Honor Roll student who enjoys her educational journey and experience. She is well thought of by both her peers and her teachers. She has a true desire to learn and challenge herself. She is a very responsible young lady and has exhibited leadership qualities and skills throughout her academic career. She likes Broadcast Communications and the creative process involved in it. She was a State Finalist in The Daughter’s of the American Revolution art contest for Middle Schools. She is active in community service and believes “giving back is important for all people”. She has participated in The Great American Cleanup in Vero Beach where she volunteered to clean up the lagoons in Indian River County. In addition, she has written for The Press Journal as their Teen Entertainment Correspondent, reporting on current events and movies from a peer perspective. Over the summers, she is a volunteer counselor at Special Kids Kamp in Vero Beach, FL. The Kamp is designed for children between the ages of 6-12 who possess “different abilities”. Brittney said: “working one on one with these children gave me a much deeper understanding that kids, regardless of their disabilities, just want to have fun”. She has also been a volunteer for the Special Olympics of the Treasure Coast and was awarded a Letter of Merit for her leadership.
