CAMP LIFE Changes Lives

At 14, Sterling Leija found her calling volunteering at Camp CAMP in San Antonio, captivated by its mission and the spirit of its campers. As she pursued studies at Texas A&M University, inspiration struck: local camps for kids with severe disabilities were scarce. Driven to change this, Sterling and a supportive network founded Camp LIFE.

Cranston High School East’s Panda’s Pantry is a hidden gem for teens, blending culinary arts with real-world skills since 1991 under Mr. Casali and Ms. Beausoleil. This Rhode Island treasure offers an immersive student-run restaurant experience funded by a grant in the ’80s.
