“Major Milestones”

My (almost) 3 year old son, Zachary, is affected with two very rare genetic disorders: Hurler’s Syndrome & Klippel Trenaunay Weber Syndrome (KTW). As a treatment for the Hurler’s Syndrome, Zach received a bone marrow transplant on February 4, 2011. We celebrated Zachary’s one year post transplant anniversary! This is a major milestone!

Also, last month, Zachary began walking on his own!! Due to the KTW, one of Zachary’s legs is 1/2 centimeter longer than the other, and he has vascular malformations on the bottom of both feet. Despite these overwhelming handicaps, Zachary is walking on his own! He always maintains a sweet personality and for that his father and I are exceptionally proud!psn_logo_-heart_outline2 [1]

Let’s Ride

My 9 year old son, Andrew (Asperger’s Syndrome), just learned how to ride his bike without training wheels in less than one month.

Now he asks to go on a bike ride!psn_logo_-heart_outline2 [1]

Filled with Determination

One of my proudest moments of my 4 year old triplet daughter is when she took off running in her walker. She has Cerebral Palsy and lacks upper body strength and leg control, but the other day she was filled with determination and we put her in her walker and she took off. She brings so much joy into our lives.

We have 6 kids all together and there are so many special/proud moments, but, this was one right off the top of my head. The picture attached is from her horseback riding session.psn_logo_-heart_outline2 [1]
