Summer Time – Summer Vacations

Summer Fun [2]A few tips to remember during the summer months.

1. I know it sounds silly, but make sure the hearing aids are off before you let your deaf friends hop into the pool. So many times, children forget or horseplay gets someone pushed in the pool.

2. Summer is hot and outdoor sports gets us sweating. Perspiration can cause damage to the hearing aids. Simple fixes like a “dry kit” can fix that problem.

3. Make sure when staying with friends, that you pack extra batteries for your hearing aid.

Have a safe and wonderful summer. [3]

Note: ASL is a multi-sensory form of communication that helps children acquire vocabulary more quickly and efficiently.
