VIDEO DEMONSTRATION: Social activities you enjoy during summer break like swimming, playing games, eating and picnicking. Remember to use your manners and practice basic signs. Use your signs during different events and keep signing.
Note: ASL is a multi-sensory form of communication that helps children acquire vocabulary more quickly and efficiently.
Tip for working with the deaf
TIP: During group activities, encourage the children to watch the faces of the other children when they speak. Semi-circle seating is especially helpful to deaf and hard of hearing children.
