Instructions

1. Prepare the Turkey

  1. Clean and wash the turkey breast.
  2. Pat it dry.
  3. Mix all seasoning ingredients together in a small bowl.
  4. Rub the seasoning mixture thoroughly over the entire turkey breast—give it a heavy, even coating like you’re applying suntan lotion.
  5. Place a few orange slices, onion pieces, and celery pieces inside the turkey cavity or around the edges.
These were added based on a family tradition for flavor.

2. Prepare the Instant Pot

  1. Pour 2 cups of water into the bottom of the Instant Pot.
  2. Place the trivet inside.
  3. Scatter extra aromatics (celery, apples, oranges, onions) around the bottom edges, avoiding the center so the turkey sits properly.

3. Load and Cook the Turkey

  2. Lock the Instant Pot lid in place.
  3. Select the Poultry setting.
  4. Adjust time to 25 minutes and set Pressure Level: High.
  5. Allow it to cook and then fully depressurize.
Be cautious—the steam release can be startling.

4. Check for Doneness

  1. Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the turkey breast.
  2. The turkey is fully cooked when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

5. Optional: Broil for a Golden Finish

  1. If you prefer a browned, crispy top:
  2. Carefully transfer the cooked turkey breast to a baking sheet.
  3. Place it under the oven broiler for 5–7 minutes, or until the skin reaches your desired level of browning.
  4. Keep a close eye on it to avoid burning.

6. Serve

  1. Slice the turkey breast.
  2. Enjoy a moist, flavorful turkey ready in just about 30 minutes, plus broiling time.
  3. Serve with your favorite Thanksgiving or everyday sides.
