Ingredients
- Turkey
- 1 turkey breast (cleaned and rinsed)
- Seasoning Mix
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose seasoning
- Rosemary (to taste)
- Salt (to taste)
- Pepper (to taste)
- Garlic powder (to taste)
Aromatics (optional but recommended)
- Orange slices
- Onion pieces
- Celery pieces
- Apple slices
For the Instant Pot
- 2 cups water
- Trivet insert
Equipment
- Instant Pot (or other electric pressure cooker)
- Meat thermometer
- Baking sheet (optional, for broiling)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Turkey
- Clean and wash the turkey breast.
- Pat it dry.
- Mix all seasoning ingredients together in a small bowl.
- Rub the seasoning mixture thoroughly over the entire turkey breast—give it a heavy, even coating like you’re applying suntan lotion.
- Place a few orange slices, onion pieces, and celery pieces inside the turkey cavity or around the edges.
These were added based on a family tradition for flavor.
2. Prepare the Instant Pot
- Pour 2 cups of water into the bottom of the Instant Pot.
- Place the trivet inside.
- Scatter extra aromatics (celery, apples, oranges, onions) around the bottom edges, avoiding the center so the turkey sits properly.
3. Load and Cook the Turkey

- Place the seasoned turkey breast on the trivet.
- Lock the Instant Pot lid in place.
- Select the Poultry setting.
- Adjust time to 25 minutes and set Pressure Level: High.
- Allow it to cook and then fully depressurize.
Be cautious—the steam release can be startling.
4. Check for Doneness
- Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the turkey breast.
- The turkey is fully cooked when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
5. Optional: Broil for a Golden Finish
- If you prefer a browned, crispy top:
- Carefully transfer the cooked turkey breast to a baking sheet.
- Place it under the oven broiler for 5–7 minutes, or until the skin reaches your desired level of browning.
- Keep a close eye on it to avoid burning.
6. Serve
- Slice the turkey breast.
- Enjoy a moist, flavorful turkey ready in just about 30 minutes, plus broiling time.
- Serve with your favorite Thanksgiving or everyday sides.
