Create, Cook, and Talk: Encouraging Learning While Creating YUM! Cherry Hand Pies

Hi, I’m Chantai! On this fun cooking show, I encourage my daughter to cook, practice speaking confidently, and learn basic cooking skills—all while trying out delicious recipes like Cherry Hand Pies that are both yummy and fun! Our goal is to inspire kids and families to cook together, explore new flavors, and enjoy learning in the kitchen. So grab an apron, gather your ingredients, and cook along with us.

In today’s show, we’re making one of our all-time favorite treats: Cherry Hand Pies. These mini pies are the perfect size for sharing, snacking, or enjoying with a scoop of ice cream. This recipe is super simple and easy—perfect for little hands and beginner bakers. After we baked our Cherry Hand Pies, we each tasted one (yum!) and wrapped up the rest to give to two special friends. They LOVED them! That’s what we call sharing the love.

Fun Cherry Facts

Did you know the average cherry tree grows about 7,000 cherries? And with the right tools, it can be harvested in just 7 seconds! Cherries are not only sweet and juicy—they’re also packed with nutrients.
