6 Special Olympians Surprised with Letter Jackets

Six Special Olympians were taken by surprise as an amazing thing that happened this past Friday at my son’s high school pep rally assembly in Bristow, Oklahoma. I just had to share.

My son has Down Syndrome and is in a special needs program at the High School. An anonymous donor arranged for my son and 5 of his classmates to receive the letter jackets, complete with their names on them, free of charge. I still don’t know who purchased the jackets, which makes this even more special. But the school system and the football coach took it one step further and had the team present them the jackets at the pep assembly. The motive was pure goodness, as the person responsible is still unknown. The jackets are valued at $350 each. The King himself even made an appearance as they even surprised my son with Elvis presenting him because he is a monster Elvis fan.

What an unbelievably amazing deed. The gesture was so huge and so impacting that I wanted the world to know that people are good especially the people of Bristow, Oklahoma. Above is a picture of my son the moment he received his jacket as well as the students with their jacket’s on. I call it his hallelujah moment.
