All about Grandmas [3] by Roni Schotter is a book that celebrates grandparents. No grandma is the same because they come in different shapes and sizes! Some are jamming and others are fixing and mending. Grandmas can all be different but they do have many things in common: They all worry, they are great at explaining things, being playful and love to cuddle. At the end of the book, the author encourages the child to show their love and affection to their grandmother because we all need to know we are loved!

The Grandmother Book [5]by Todd Parr is a colorful and engaging book that can easily captivate your child. The author takes the reader through what grandmas like most from their grandchildren: Spending the night at their house, making their grandchildren eat a lot, getting phone calls from them and most of all getting lots of kisses!

The Journey Home from Grandpa’s House [7]by Jemima Lumley is a beautifully illustrated sing-along book about the fun adventurous trip home from Grandpa’s house. This book can help facilitate language for a child who enjoys reading about vehicles and different places. Help your child learn new vocabulary by describing all of the different places that the car visits on its way home. From farms to cities, this is a book that young children will love to read and explore with their grandparents.

Just Grandpa and Me [11] by Mercer Mayer is a book about a grandpa’s trip with his grandson to the city to find a suit. They have an adventurous day shopping, playing and eating together. They are a perfect pair throughout the day by helping each other and having lots of bonding time together.
Why Read to Your Child for 20 Minutes a Day?
We found this chart on Kids Activities Blog [12]. We thought this was interesting. While some of our children will not be scoring in the 90th percentile (or even taking a standardized test), we feel that exposure to this many words a year certainly cannot hurt.
