Products to help make dental health easier and fun
Since February is Dental Health Month, we wanted to bring your attention to a few things that can help you now and in the future.
We all know the importance of taking good care of our children’s teeth, but for many reasons it isn’t always easy.
So, with the assistance of some great companies, we put together a list of some things that we hope will make it a bit easier….and a bit more fun.
The company names are: Got Special Kids and Jack N Jill Kids.
A big THANK YOU goes out to them for being our sponsors.
Okay so let’s go!
Our first item is from GOT SPECIAL KIDS:
The BITE N CLEAN Turtle toothbrush
This toothbrush gets teeth cleaned in ½ the time because it cleans the top and bottom teeth at the same time.
WHAT I LIKE: The handle is an easy grip for little hands (and, actually, a more natural grip especially for those who have difficulty with typical brushes).
See this little bump (Turtle’s head)? This is here to keep a child from putting the brush too far into their mouths which can happen with other brushes. Remember, supervision is the best way to keep the user safe.
SOMETHING TO NOTE: Got-Special Kids provides young adults with special needs marketable skills to join the workplace. So, each package ordered will be custom packed by one of the Got- Special Kids trainees who are assisted by job coaches.

Monthly Brushing and Flossing Calendar
How many of you try to get into the good habit for getting your child to brush their teeth twice a day…every day? Then, something happens and well, you know the rest…they don’t brush their teeth twice a day! We have something that we think will help and be fun too!
WHAT I LIKE: It is interactive! Have fun with your child as they color and decorate the calendar.
They can brush and mark it off the calendar to see their good work! Works as a team with the brush I just showed you and the toothpaste I am getting ready to share!
SOMETHING TO NOTE: Each square has 2 boxes for brushing and 1 for flossing so no guess work and no feeling your child’s brush to see if it has been used recently!
Here is the link Healthy Mouth Calendar so you can download this and use all year!
JACK N’ JILL TOOTHPASTE
I know that there are many individuals with special needs who simply do not like the taste of toothpaste. Maybe it is too spicy, minty or gritty. Say hello to a wonderful new toothpaste.
WHAT I LIKE: These taste amazing. There are organic flavors like Berries and Crème, Banana, Blueberry, Milkshake, and even Bubble Gum. They are flouride free and safe to swallow so no worries if your child cannot, or will not, spit. There are no artificial ingredients!
SOMETHING TO NOTE: So, you might ask, “Without fluoride, what is in the toothpaste to protect teeth from cavities?
The answer is: Xylitol! A natural, effective protector of tooth enamel.
These have 40% Xylitol in them whereas most others have only 10%.
Again, here is the link Jack N’ Jill Natural Toothpaste for easy clicking and shopping.
COMPLETE GUIDE FOR DENTAL CARE FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Where do we start? What is the best way to prepare your child for their dentist visit?
WHAT I LIKE: This guide is written by a dentist who specializes in special needs patients!
Full of advice and guidance from a professional to the parent/guardian.
Access this resource and print it out, to review, and keep for future dental visits.
We hope these items for Dental Health Month help you, help your children with better oral hygiene.
Please let us know your thoughts or suggestions in the comments.
As always, we are here for you!
