Anara Midgett is a Registered Nurse who first experienced life on the “other side” of the incubator when her daughter Clara was born at 26 weeks. They spent almost 90 days together in the NICU where Anara worked. Three and a half years later, Clara’s dual diagnosis of Down Syndrome and Autism continue to teach, strengthen, and motivate Anara both as a mother and as a healthcare professional. The goal for her writing is to reduce the stress and confusion surrounding medical and behavioral care so special needs are just another part of family life, rather than a family’s entire life. Originally from South Florida, Anara lives near Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband Craig, Clara, two year old son Alan Russell, and a red dog named Red Dog.
