During times of economic uncertainty we are all faced with financial struggles that may affect how we live our lives.
Driving to work has led many of us to change the way we live. We are forced to eliminate something from our life that gave us pleasure, the ice cream cone, the cup of coffee, the movies.
Cutting unnecessary expenses seems to be the buzz phrase of the day.
So how do we react to the envelope that appears in the mail from the non-profit agency asking for your help? Is it just tossed away and forgotten, or do we set it aside and try to forget it is there or do we hope that there will be a few extra dollars that we can send out to help those who we know count on our donation?
Just like you, I know how hard it is to find that little bit of extra money to send off to help the less fortunate in our community…. After all, we are all suffering.
But now more than ever is the time to find those few extra dollars and help the cause you care about.
Non Profit agencies rely on your donations…. I like to call your donation your investment, because you are investing in the well-being of the agency and the mission of that agency to help those in need.
Although I run a non-profit agency this letter is not just about me. It is about all non-profit agencies. We all need you now more than ever. As the economy wanes so does the funding that allows us to keep providing the necessary services. So whatever mission calls your heart to give, please do so.
You, the community are who we work for. The services we provide are for your neighbors or perhaps their child, or maybe it’s the person down the street or the man or woman standing on the corner hurting and in need. We touch the lives of people you know.
You are our support, we are their support. We cannot do it without you.
Thank you for your trust in us.
